Our company e-pill® Medication Reminders offers a large selection of 'round' wheel type automatic pill dispensers. Many of our med wheel type dispensers are locked and most are automatic. The original med wheel was developed in Sweden in 1994 and received a prize for best design by the Swedish King. The Swedish Medication Wheel was introduced in the USA in 1999. After more than 15 years e-pill MD1 / e-pill MedTime XL / e-pill Careousel Mk3 / SKU 991019 is still one of our best sellers. In 2015 the e-pill MedTime PLUS (SKU 992030 / Careousel ADVANCE) was introduced with many improvements and new features compared to the original design.
In 2008 we introduced the first Monitored e-pill Wheel (e-pill MD2 PLUS (SKU 994019). Our e-pill monitored automatic pill dispenser will notify a remote care-giver if medications have not been take within a preset time window (for example 1 hour / 60 minutes). This e-pill also allows a caregiver access to the dispensing history from a remote location via an Internet browser. Care-giver notification can be sent by e-mail, SMS Text Message or IVR (electronic voice phone call). We also offer the e-pill MD2 MedSmart (SKU 993019) a robust high pill capacity and AC powered (with battery back-up) stand-alone automatic pill wheel / med box.
To address the need for a device to be used outside the patient's home, a line of portable automatic pill dispenser wheels was introduced in 2012 (e-pill Med-O-Wheel SMART SKU SKU 870715 and e-pill Med-O-Wheel SECURE with Tamper Alarm). The most popular e-pill Med-O-Wheel SECURE (SKU 870812 e-pill Med-O-Wheel SECURE) is Tamper Resistant Portable Locked Automatic Pill Dispenser commonly used in drug rehabilitation programs to administer Methadone and buprenorphine/naloxone ('tablet Suboxone').
