With the global population set to age rapidly over the next two decades, a burgeoning market is developing to help individuals maintain a positive and active lifestyle within their communities and homes. As part of the Embassy of Sweden's Health & Care program series, AARP cosponsored the session "Home Care for the Future" with presentations and discussion on how the interweaving of technology and in-home care will play a critical role in allowing individuals the ability to remain in their homes and active in their communities.
Health & Care: Home Care for the Future (AARP)
The program, moderated by David Kushner, began with a brief overview of health care in Sweden by Mr. Anders Carlsson and Ms. Ann-Margaret Knapp, who emphasized the triple-helix model, where local governments, businesses and universities work together to drive innovation and development to provide better care.
